RISE West is just days away, so we’ve gathered everything you need to know to maximize your experience in Los Angeles.
In addition to our main speakers and track sessions, we have plenty of networking and fun planned when we gather for RISE West 2022, August 31-September 2 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. Here’s a guide to what we’ve planned:
Networking opportunities
You’ll need to pack lots of business cards to hand out to the 550 attendees at this year’s event. Networking begins Wednesday night, August 31 with a welcome reception featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the exhibit hall from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Several sponsors will also have full bars at their booths. Be sure to visit Omega Healthcare, Cognisight, and Pareto Intelligence and grab a cocktail during the reception.
We’ve also planned networking breaks between sessions throughout the two days of the main conference, as well as dedicated time to mingle during breakfasts and lunches.
And to celebrate the fact that we are back together again in-person, we’ll also have a gathering with a second cocktail reception in the exhibit hall on Thursday night for face-to face networking.
You’ll also want to allow plenty of time to visit with our sponsors (there are more than 75 this year) in the exhibit hall to learn about their offerings (and collect their swag)!
Interactive roundtables (and a chance to win a luxury prize)
We also have networking planned via 20-minute interactive roundtables beginning 5:20 p.m. Thursday, September 1. Grab a seat at these speed-networking type of presentations that feature the latest technologies and solutions from our sponsors. You’ll have a chance to select three roundtables and a bell will ring three times within the hour-long sessions to alert you it’s time to move to the next roundtable of your choice.
Roundtable participants who work for a provider or health plan and get a postcard stamped with three different roundtable sponsors will also have a chance to claim a luxury gift. High-end prizes include:
- A 20-ounce hybrid canteen in various colors from Corkcicle

So many learning opportunities
The learning starts on Wednesday, August 31 with a choice of four pre-conference workshops (separate registration required):
- A full-day workshop on HCC Coding 201, focusing on how to lead and implement HCC coding and documentation programs
- A half-day advanced workshop for the risk adjustment professional
- A half-day workshop on design thinking
- A half-day workshop on payer-provider collaboration

Take in the view and explore Los Angeles after hours
The venue is amazing. The 73-floor luxury hotel offers 360-degree breathtaking views of the legendary California sunset from the tallest building on the West Coast.
If you are extending your stay, pack comfortable shoes and take advantage of the things to do in Los Angeles, including visits to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Broad Museum, Grand Central Market; Paramount Pictures, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, TCL Chinese theater, Grammy Museum at LA Live, and Dodger Stadium. Want to venture out a bit for luxury shopping? Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills is just a few miles away from the hotel. And don’t forget your bathing suit and sunscreen to soak in the SoCal beach culture in Malibu, Santa Monica, Venice, or Manhattan Beach.
