Early bird registration is now open for RISE Nashville 2020, the mega-conference for professionals of all levels in the Medicare Advantage and Affordable Care Act market. Read on to find out why people return year after year and why you don’t want to miss the 2020 event at Music City Center, March 15-17.

Now in its 14th year, RISE Nashville has become the must-attend event for the latest information and strategies for risk adjustment, quality, Star ratings, CMS and OIG RADV audits, predictive analytics, payer-provider collaboration, social determinants of health, value-based care, member engagement, and physician engagement. In 2019, more than 1,400 attendees from 587 organizations joined RISE in Nashville for unmatched learning and networking opportunities. Here’s what you can expect at next year’s event:

OIG takes center stage

Representatives from the Office of Inspector General will be on hand at 10:35 a.m. Monday, the first full day of the conference, to talk about the work the office has done to identify vulnerabilities that exist in Medicare Advantage. Megan H. Tinker, senior advisor for legal affairs, office of counsel to the inspector general; Jacqualine Reid, social science research analyst; and San Le, social science research analyst for evaluation and inspections, will provide an overview of OIG’s work to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare Advantage. They will also discuss the findings and recommendations of work the OIG’s Office of Evaluation and Inspections has done on the financial impact of chart reviews on risk scores in Medicare Advantage.

Must-see keynote presenters

Attendees will hear from celebrity chef, Jeff Henderson, star of Flip My Food with Chef Jeff and author of “If You Can See It, You Can Be It,” on Tuesday, the second full day of the conference. Henderson, who once was an imprisoned drug dealer, will talk about his emotional journey of redemption from the streets to the stove and will share strategies to help you achieve your dreams, no matter your stage of life.

Allison Massari, executive coach, celebrated artist, and burn survivor, will follow the presentation with her riveting talk on the “art of person-centered care,” providing Nashville attendees with her perceptive view inside the patient experience. Massari will offer solutions to how the health care system can keep the patient first despite limited time and other practical constraints.

10-plus hours of network opportunities

Networking was a highlight at RISE Nashville 2019

Last year’s conference chair Nathan Goldstein, chief product officer, Signify Health, said it best: no other network event in the industry compares to RISE Nashville. Over the course of the three days, the conference will feature more than 10 hours of networking opportunities, including a welcome reception on Sunday, a cocktail reception on Monday, breakfasts, and roundtable discussions. “One of my ‘Dad’ jokes that I give at the podium is that this is the biggest gathering of people who understand what you do for a living,” Goldstein said. “Networking can become a cliché. But can you think of a place that gathers more than 1,000 people who understand your value to your company?”
