CMS representatives will take to the stage first at 9 a.m. Monday, March 8.

Allison Yadsko, deputy director, Division of Policy and Analysis; Catherine Anderson, deputy director, Division of Risk Adjustment Operations; and Joshua Paul, risk adjustment and HHS-RADV technical lead, will appear via livestream to provide an update on HHS-operated risk adjustment and risk adjustment data validation.

They will offer an overview of the risk adjustment and risk adjustment data validation policies in the proposed 2023 Payment Notice and a progress report on 2019 and 2020 HHS-RADV processes.

OIG session

The OIG session will immediately follow at 9:45 a.m. Megan H. Tinker, assistant inspector general, Jacqualine Reid, social science research analyst, and Robert E. Kirkner, social science research analyst for evaluation and inspections, will provide an overview of OIG recent reports and current priorities in the managed care space.

Like their CMS colleagues, they will present their session virtually. They will discuss chart reviews and health risk assessments, as well as industry responses to OIG risk adjustment data validation audits. The panel will also take a deep dive into the use of Medicare Advantage encounter data for program integrity.

Following their session, members of the RISE Risk Adjustment Policy Committee will appear live, in person to offer their thoughts on regulatory changes and expectations.
