Put On Your Thinking CAP and Develop a Map
The Effective Use of CMS Data Exchange Reports as a Compass

Since 2016, Medicare Advantage has seen the development of many reports that provide a wealth of information regarding the completeness and accuracy of EDPS and RAPS data submissions. In 2020 a new report was released that has two significant differences from the other reports: the calculation of four HEDIS measures based on encounter data compared to traditional HEDIS measure calculation, and the requirement for health plans to submit a corrective action plan (CAP) for gaps found between those two measurements and other specified data points. The industry is now standing at the intersection of risk adjustment and quality as it relates to data management, and a new roadmap is needed to successfully navigate. In this webinar, Centauri will discuss how reporting can inform a proactive data submissions management strategy as a part of the overall risk adjustment strategy, including how to successfully incorporate input from HEDIS operations. The topics at a glance that will be discussed are:

  • A history and summary of CMS EDPS reporting and how it has built a foundation for the 2020 data exchange reporting
  • How to develop a proactive strategy as a compass for your map of how to avoid or address gaps, which includes the people, processes and technology in the organization that are necessary for the strategies to be successful
  • How to respond with a thoughtful CAP and not get caught in "analysis paralysis" if your plan is identified on the data exchange reporting to have gaps
  • Special considerations for the HEDIS input necessary to address gaps and to open the conversation about the intersection of risk adjustment and quality
