Now that CMS has released the 2022 HHS-RADV Protocols, it is time to dive into the major changes and how these changes will impact the provider, the health plans, and the coders. The major change that is going to have the most impact is the removal of the Lifelong Permanent Conditions list.
Now, more than ever, providers are going to have to make sure they are assessing the patient’s conditions at least one time per year and document those findings on the encounter. Without evidence the conditions were assessed, their providers and health plans are at risk for lost revenue.
