RISE’s two-day virtual event is the only conference in the market to bring together payers and providers to collaborate about the shift to value-based health care delivery.
Mid- to senior-level professionals from Managed Care Organizations, health plans/payers, employer groups, and service providers will discuss new strategies, best practices, and what’s to come in the value-based care space. The Payer/Provider Engagement & Contracting Summit will be held on December 2-3 as a virtual event.
Here’s a first look at the top five features of this year’s summit:
1. Keynote presentation
The first day of the conference will kick off with a keynote presentation from Christopher White, M.D., MACC, MSCAI, FAHA, FESC, FACP, professor and chair of medicine & cardiology, medical director value-based care, system chair for cardiovascular diseases, Ochsner Medical Center.
White will share best practices to navigate change throughout the transition to value-based care including partnership and alignment strategies, tools to decrease variation for physicians to improve quality and lower costs, and clinical workflows and day-to-day activities for a successful shift from fee-for-service to a value-based care delivery program.
2. Esteemed speakers
James Colbert, M.D., senior medical director, delivery system innovation and analytics, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, will share a case study on the alternative quality contract model. Colbert will provide details on the risk contract implemented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts that reduced medical costs by 12 percent and improved patient care, as well as tips to engage providers through data sharing and actionable reporting, and how to continue to innovate through value-based payment models.
Stephen Linesch, principal, Paradigm Group, will explore how to develop a blueprint for building a risk ready health care organization. Linesch will share a financial and operational checklist for health plans and physician organizations, explore contract models and negotiation strategies for successful care management, and discuss risk-bearing arrangements benefits.
Sara Stevens, vie president healthcare economics and analytics operations, Capital District Physician’s Health Plan Inc. (CDPHP), will discuss data sharing and predictive analytics to manage risk and improve member health. Stevens will explore new predictive models and data sharing strategies that emerged amid COVID-19, opportunities to improve medical risk management, and best practices to collect, analyze, and disperse testing data.
3. Track themes tailored to professions
The conference will include two concurrent track themes to allow attendees the opportunity to hear from leading experts within their fields. Each track will include two tailored sessions.
The provider track sessions will include:
- Explore and overcome challenges for ACO’s in an evolving health care industry
- The consortium: moving the needle on value-based payments
The payer breakout sessions will include:
- Case study: the alternative quality contract model
- Broad vs. narrow–considerations for provider networks
4. Lunch Roundtables
The first day of the conference will feature three virtual lunch-time roundtable discussions with industry experts. After his keynote, White will return to lead the roundtable topic, Access to data and needed analytics for documenting and demonstrating performance improvement. William De Marco, president, Pendulum HealthCare Development Corporation; chairman of the board, GoldStar Alliance for Health, will lead a roundtable discussion on the Improvement for Value-Based Contract Standardization. Hans Wiik, FACHE, MPH, RPh, president, Hans Wiik Health Group LLC, will moderate a discussion on Director Employer Contracting with Broker Collaboration.
5. Virtual perks
This year’s summit will bring the high-quality presentations and lively discussion directly to attendees’ home offices!
